November Newsletter

We have a lot of events planned for November: please read to the end so you don’t miss out!

In the Catholic Church, the entire month of November is dedicated to remembering, and praying for, those who have passed away. To that end, On All Souls Day, November 2nd at 1:00 p.m., we will gather in the Holy Rosary Cemetery (2091 Laprade street) to pray a Rosary for the departed. If you would like for your deceased loved ones names to be added to the prayer list, please see Jessica after Mass or email HolyRosaryEvents@hotmail.com.

Also, throughout the month of November, we will set up a table in the back of the church, where we will display pictures of the community’s loved ones who have passed away. Bring a standing framed picture of your deceased loved ones, no more than 5×7, preferably labelled with your loved one’s name on the front, and we will add it to the table.

🎄Tickets for our first annual Christmas Show, “A Holy Rosary Christmas” will be on sale starting this upcoming Sunday, October 22nd. They are $20.00 each, $15.00 if your child is participating in the show (limit of 2 per child), and are free for children under age five. Please see Kathleen at her table at the back of the church after Mass to purchase your tickets!

Saturday November 4th, we will be holding an All Saints Day Costume Party! Come and celebrate all the great Saints in Heaven with your Parish community at this very special event! Games, treats, and prizes await! Come dressed up as your favourite Saint; prizes will be awarded for best, most original, and most obscure Saint costumes! Not sure what to wear? There are lots of tutorials on the Web and YouTube for making Saint costumes for your children, even if you are not especially crafty!

Friday November 24th at 7:00 p.m we will be hosting a Children’s Movie Night! This month we will be viewing the wonderful Nativity movie “The Star”. Popcorn, juice boxes, and water bottles will be provided! This event is free, though voluntary donations are always welcome. Friendly reminder: if your child is registered for Reconciliation & First Communion this year this is a mandatory activity.

Our regular monthly activities are scheduled as follows:

Saturday November 4th, 7:00 pm – Rosary Prayer Meeting All are welcome, even if you’ve never prayed the Rosary before! Prayer is followed by discussion about the Mysteries of the life of Christ, and the power of prayer in our lives.

Saturday November 18th, 9:30 am – Children’s Adoration Hour Join us in prayer and community to adore our Lord, in an environment where silence and stillness are NOT expected!!! Games, scripture, colouring, storytelling, and song are on the menu for parents and their little ones in this special hour in Our Lord’s Presence! This event is prepared for children 4 to 7; older and younger siblings are welcome!

Sunday November 19th, after Mass – Community Meet and Greet Get to know your Parish community around a coffee and a snack! Please speak to Shanel or Jessica if you would like to contribute to the food table!

Please do not hesitate to email HolyRosaryEvents@hotmail.com if you would like this newsletter delivered directly to your inbox, or with questions, comments, or ideas!

God bless,
